Brown, Vaughn CC/Chicago Social Media Directors


Clear Channel/Chicago appoints Derrick Brown (far right) and Rick Vaughn as the cluster's new Directors of Social Media, effective immediately. Brown will oversee social networking for WVAZ-FM (V103), WLIT-FM (93.9 Lite FM) and WGRB-FM (Inspiration 1390) in addition to his duties as V103's PD. Vaughn will head up social networking for WKSC-FM (103.5 Kiss FM), WGCI-FM and WNUA-FM (Mega 95.5) and continue to serve as PD of Kiss FM.

"Derrick and Rick have built amazing on-air and online brands at WVAZ-FM (V103) and WKSC-FM (103.5 KISS-FM), and I am thrilled that we will be able to tap into their talents," said OM Tony Coles. "The continued growth of online communities dictate that we create various outlets for our listeners and advertisers to connect with our stations," said Coles.

As Directors of Social Media, Brown and Vaughn will be responsible for using new media and social networking to extend station brands across online communities, including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, among others.

Brown is theformer Assistant Program Director and midday host at WLIT. He also served as Program Director at WKYS-FM/Washington, DC, KDJM-FM/Denver and WHQT-FM/Miami.

Vaughn previously served as Program Director of Clear Channel's WIOQ-FM/Philadelphia and WKSS-FM/Hartford, CT.
