Deadline.com is reporting that popular syndicated sports broadcaster Jim Rome is leaving Premiere Radio Networks and finalizing a new deal with CBS Radio. CBS would reportedly use The Jim Rome Show as the cornerstone for CBS Sports Radio, the new national sports radio network slated to launch on Jan. 2. Rome has been with Premiere since 1996.
Back in January Rome left ESPN in favor of a deal with CBS and launched a new half-hour daily cable TV show on CBS Sports Network in April. Rome also is set to contribute to CBS Sports' coverage of the NFL, NCAA basketball and U.S. Open Tennis Championships, and other events. The new agreement with CBS Radio consolidates Rome's radio and TV endeavors and makes him one of CBS' top sports personalities across all media.
