Clear Channel Layoffs Oust Nine Program Directors


AC KOST-FM/Los Angeles PD and 20-year station vet Stella Prado is out in a large round of layoffs across Clear Channel's stations on Thursday. Also exiting is Talk WFLA-AM and Sports WDAE-AM PD Steve Versnick, Alternative KDGE-FM (102.1 The Edge)/Dallas PD/midday host Josh Venable and Sports WDFN-AM/Detroit PD/afternoon talent Eric Chase.

Additionally, budget cuts claim AC WMGF-FM (Magic 107.7)/Orlando PD/afternoon host and 14-year station vet Ken Payne, WTKS-FM (Real Radio 104.1)/Orlando PD Catherine Brown, Country KASE-FM PD/afternoon host and KVET-FM/Austin PD Joel Burke, Rhythmic CHR KGGI-FM/Riverside-San Bernardino PD Jesse Duran and Country WCOL-FM/Columbus PD John Crenshaw.

The layoffs also include:

  • Country WUBL-FM (94.9 The Bull)/Atlanta midday personality Tim Michaels
  • Regional Mexican WBZY-FM (105.3 El Patron)/Atlanta afternooner Miguel Aguilar
  • Rock WEBN-FM/Cincinnati afternoon talent Jay Gilbert
  • CHR WAKS-FM/Cleveland Assistant PD/MD and afternoon host Kasper
  • Oldies WODC-FM/Columbus morning host Andy Clark, midday talent Amy Donovan and afternoon personality Kevin Kirschner.
  • CHR KHKS-FM (106.1 Kiss FM) and Alternative KDGE-FM (102.1 The Edge)/Dallas producer Adrian Hummel
  • Active Rock KBPI-FM/Denver aftrernoon host Uncle Nasty, and KBPI-KEGL Imaging Director Eddie Barella
  • CHR WKQI-FM (Channel 955)/Detroit midday talent Jag
  • Classic Rock KKRW-FM (93.7 The Arrow)/Houston Walton & Johnson producer Josh Reno
  • Country WFUS-FM (US 103.5)/Tampa MD/midday host Ryan Nelson and Afternoon co-host Jenny Dean
