Report: Scott Ginsburg Suing Georgetown University

Former Chancellor Media President/CEO and DG Chairman Scott Ginsburg, who teamed with Tom Hicks to sell their radio stations to Clear Channel, is suing Georgetown University reports The Dallas News. The suit is over $7.5 million in donations he made to the university's law center which included naming rights to a new Health and Fitness Center. Fast forward 12 years and there is no sign of Ginsburg's name on the building.

The newspaper says that the University refused to put his name on the building after Ginsburg was found guilty of insider trading in April, 2002. At the time, then-Georgetown Law Center Dean Judith Areen sent him a letter thanking him for his "support," "generosity" and "steadfast loyalty." She also wanted to redo the agreement, removing the promise of naming rights from the deal until press on the SEC issue died down. She also said they'd revisit the deal "if the jury verdict is overturned."

Ginsburg refused the change the original agreement and wants his money back, along with interest and attorneys' fees.
