Chuck Perks New PD/Midday Host of WWFX/Worcester

Cumulus Media announces the appointment of Chuck Perks as Program Director and Midday Host of Classic Hits station WWFX 100.1 FM "The Pike" in Worcester, MA. He has been working for Cumulus Worcester in a part-time capacity, both on and off air, at Hot A/C 104.5 WXLO, 98.9 WORC-FM and 100.1 FM "The Pike," prior to being brought on full time.

Previously Perks worked as Hub Headlines personality for the night show on 98.5 The Sports Hub (WBZ-FM) in Boston and Headlines reporter on the Boston Bruins Radio Network. He was also Production Director for Entercom Boston Sports station WEEI from 2000-2008, during which time he also worked weekends for sister station Star 93.7 (WQSX) for three years. Chuck began his radio career in Worcester at WFTQ 1440 AM.

Val Garris, Vice President, Programming, Cumulus Media, said: "We're fortunate to have someone of Chuck's caliber join Cumulus at WWFX 100.1 FM "The Pike" in Worcester. His experience and knowledge of the market make him the perfect fit to lead The Pike as both a personality and programmer."

Bob Goodell, Vice President and Market Manager of Cumulus Worcester/Boston, said: "Chuck Perks is a consummate radio professional who cut his teeth working at Worcester/Boston rocker WAAF as an on-air personality and then assumed production director duties for WEEI in Boston, while working on-air at The Sports Hub 98.5 FM in Boston. His passion for the product, paired with his breadth of experience across Worcester/Boston radio, make him the ideal choice for PD and Midday personality on The Pike. Chuck is a great addition to our staff and we welcome him to the team."

Perks said: "It's a thrill to step up as Program Director and Midday Host of 'The Pike' in Worcester. It's a dream job for me because I feel this was a job that I was born to do and to do it my hometown is even better. I look forward to working with the Cumulus Worcester team under the leadership of Lance Ballance and Bob Goodell."
