WXRT-FM/Chicago Names Kelly Ransford as MD


CBS Radio WXRT-FM/Chicago names AAA format vet Kelly Ransford as Music Director, according to a report from Robert Feder. She replaces John Farneda, who left in November as Operations Manager and Music Director after 31 years with the station. Previously, Ransford served as Promotions Director for AAA KMTT-FM (The Mountain)/Seattle and co-owned Alternative KNDD-FM (The End). Before relocating to Seattle, she was Assistant PD at AAA KFOG-FM (104.5 K-Fog)/San Francisco.

VP/Adult Rock Programming Norm Winer told Feder that Ransford had an "excellent reputation throughout the industry for her integrity, her work ethic, easy-going personality, her knowledge and passion for music and radio, and her straightforward approach as a communicator."
