Hendrix joined the company in August, 2001, as PD of WTPT.

"I am very excited to extend my operations experience to WYRD and ESPN Upstate," said Hendrix. "I'm thankful for the great opportunities that Entercom has afforded me over the years and look forward to working with our talented staffs to deliver exceptional, locally focused programs to our Upstate audiences."

Jay D. Stone was promoted to Program Director from Assistant PD for WROQ. Stone will continue his role as Assistant PD of WTPT-FM. Stone hosts "The Stoneman" program on WROQ weekdays from 12-6pm. Jay D. Stone joined WROQ as Music Director in 2003. He previously held the same position at KGGO-FM/Des Moines.

"Having the opportunity to head up the legendary call letters of WROQ is a big deal!" said Stone. "Plus working with the top shelf staff here at Entercom Upstate for the past 12 years, all I can say is the winning tradition will continue at Classic Rock 101."

Talk personality Bob McLain inks a new long-term contract to continue hosting "The Bob McLain Show" in afternoons from 3-7pm weekdays on WORD 106.3. In addition, McLain who previously served as the WORD 106.3 Operations Manager, will now step back from day-to-day activities and take on the title of Operations Manager Emeritus. Spanning over 40 years in both television and radio, McLain started his career at WTOB/Winston-Salem. He joined Greenville, SC media enterprises in 2002 at WGVC.

"I am thrilled to continue my program at WORD 106.3/WYRD-FM," said McLain. "Entercom Upstate has given me great opportunities to engage with listeners, discuss controversial and important issues, and establish a thought provoking radio brand."

"Mark Hendrix has done an outstanding job of programing Classic Rock 101.1/WROQ and 93.3 The Planet/WTPT-FM," said Entercom Greenville VP/Market Manager Steve Sinicropi. "He has coached "The Rise Guys" on 93.3 The Planet/WTPT-FM to the top of many key morning demos. Hendrix will build on Bob McLain's excellent work on WORD 106.3 developing stimulating local talk. I am also pleased that Bob McLain will continue his very popular show. Finally, I'm happy Jay D. Stone has been elevated to the well-deserved position of Program Director at Classic Rock 101.1/WROQ-FM; he is the heart and soul of that station."
