92.3 WIL's Morning Show Host Cornbread announced this morning that he has decided to leave the St. Louis country station's airwaves at the end of the week-and that he is going out with a bang! On Friday morning, April 24th Cornbread and 92.3 WIL will be hosting "Cornbread's World's Largest Farewell Pajama Party" from 6:00 until 10:00 am at Ballpark Village, on the Fox Sports Midwest LIVE Stage, in downtown St. Louis.

According to Program Director Greg Mozingo, "Cornbread has decided to retire from 92.3 WIL so that he can pursue other interests. This move will also free him up so that he can spend more time with his wife and his family." Cornbread arrived on the 92.3 WIL airwaves in late July of 2004, more than a decade ago. Since then, "The Cornbread Morning Show" skyrocketed to the top of the listener charts, becoming one of the most successful radio shows in St. Louis media history. During his tenure, Cornbread managed to rack up major national radio industry recognitions including "Personality of the Year" awards from the CMAs, ACMs and the Marconi Award.

Since his 2004 arrival, Cornbread has spent an enormous amount of time and effort working tirelessly on behalf of charities and organizations. He and the 92.3 WIL team created many memorable initiatives, including "Cornbread's Kids Crusade" benefitting St. Louis Children's Hospital; "Team Breadhead" supporting the Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure; the "Adopt a Soldier" program administered through the U.S.O.; as well as other memorable campaigns for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, along with the multiple "Country Cares For Kids" St. Jude Radiothons he hosted over the years.

John Kijowski, Vice President and Market Manager for Hubbard St. Louis Radio, notes, "While we respect Cornbread's decision to put his family first, we really hate to see him go." Kijowski adds, "The entire team at Hubbard Radio St. Louis wishes him well in his future endeavors."
