The sale of Minnesota radio stations KQDS(FM) Duluth, WEVE(FM) Eveleth, KGPZ(FM) Coleraine, WXXZ(FM) Grand Marais, KAOD(FM) Babbitt, and affiliated translators W252AN Hibbing, W288AI Ely, and W221AU Virginia has closed. The stations were sold by Red Rock Radio Corp. to Midwest Communications, Inc.
Red Rock Radio Corp., is a Minnesota-based company headed by Kathy Lau and Shawn Skramstad. Red Rock Radio Corp. also owns four radio stations in Minnesota. Note, Red Rock Radio has an application filed to sell KBAJ(FM).
Midwest Communications, Inc., is a Wisconsin-based company headed by Duke Wright. Midwest Communications, Inc. also owns 73 radio stations throughout Tennessee, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.
KQDS(FM) operates at 94.9 MHz, with 100 kW at 846 HAAT.
WEVE(FM) operates at 97.9 MHz, with 100 kW at 518 HAAT.
KGPZ(FM) operates at 96.1 MHz, with 100 kW at 577 HAAT.
WXXZ(FM) operates at 95.3 MHz, with 63 kW at 686 HAAT.
KAOD(FM) operates at 106.7 MHz, with 33 kW at 430 HAAT.
