5th Annual KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute Begins

The Western Kentucky University campus welcomes students from Valparaiso University and Middle Tennessee State University as well as WKU to the fifth annual KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute. These students hope to follow in the footsteps of other Radio Talent Institute students who are now working professionally for Commonwealth Broadcasting, Forever Media, Capcity, Beasley Media Group, Midwest Communications, iHeartMedia, Cumulus, Hubbard Radio, CBS, Entercom, Alpha Media and others.

The Ben Davis and Kelly K morning show from WDJX Louisville will broadcast live from the Radio Talent Institute with the students as the live studio audience. Students will learn from radio pros from all areas of the broadcast industry, including on-air, music radio, sports and news, production, promotions, digital/social media and engineering. All students will become certified by the RAB as Radio Marketing Professionals.

Ed Henson of Henson Media, Louisville, handles the opening session with these future broadcasters who have a passion and desire for a career in broadcasting. Ten intense days later and following over 35 broadcast professionals teaching sessions with Cromwell Radio Group Nashville President Bud Walters does the closing session and KBA President Henry Lackey handling the closing comments. The Kentucky Broadcasters Association underwrites the KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute.
