Alpha Media/Myrtle Beach flips Sports WRNN-AM (1450/105.5) from ESPN to Rhythmic Oldies as "G105.5" with the slogan "Myrtle Beach's The Throwback Station." WRNN will play throwbacks such as The Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Destiny's Child and more.
Energy 92.1 Program Director Zack Williams commented, "We're crazy excited to bring throwbacks to Myrtle Beach. You can take your radio to the beach, cruise up and down Ocean Blvd and have a great time listening to the best throwback Hip Hop and R&B."
"While I've been programming the alternative station here, I grew up listening to this music and DJ-ing in nightclubs and bars all throughout my life. This station is going to be a great addition to Myrtle Beach and the Alpha Media family. To quote Dre, 'It ain't nuthin but a G thang baby'," remarked WKZQ 96.1 Program Director Crash.
