Cumulus Media taps 30-year radio broadcasting vet Bill Gentry as VP/Market Manager for the company's cluster in Birmingham, AL. He joins Cumulus from Alpha Media/Louisville where he was Senior VP/Market Manager. Prior to that, Gentry served as Regional Market President for iHeartMedia, managing radio outlets in Louisville, Lexington KY, Somerset KY and Nashville. Gentry was also Senior VP for Clear Channel, where he oversaw the operations of its stations in Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Western Pennsylvania, Indianapolis and Memphis.

Cumulus Media Regional VP/Operations Mark Sullivan said, "I'm really excited and pleased to have Bill joining our team in Birmingham. We're fortunate to be bringing someone of his caliber and experience to the company. I'm looking forward to our continued success in Birmingham."

Gentry added, "I am thrilled to join the Cumulus team in Birmingham and grateful to Mary and the leadership team for this opportunity. I am particularly excited to be starting just as college football is kicking off in the heart of the SEC, as we are the sports authority in the market. Given my experience within News/Talk and recent time working within the Urban arena, I can't wait to get started."

Gentry also served as a member of the board of directors for the Kentucky Broadcasters Association from 2011-2016 and was honored as 2014 CRS/CA Medium Market Manager/GM of the Year. He earned a B.A. degree in Telecommunications from the University of Kentucky.
