ESPN 1000/Chicago Celebrates 20 Years of Broadcasting

ESPN1000 Chicago will celebrate its 20th anniversary on October 12 with a "Fanniversary!" In 1998, ESPN1000 went on the air as the flagship owned station for ESPN Audio. The "Fanniversary" event will located at Austin's Fuel Room in Libertyville, Ill., where the station will broadcast from for the entire day.

"ESPN 1000 has provided Chicago sports fans with an outlet for listening to, sharing and experiencing every top Chicago sports story for the past twenty years, said Jim Pastor, Vice President and General Manager of ESPN1000 Chicago. "We gave them a front row seat during championship runs by the Blackhawks, Cubs, White Sox and Bulls and we introduced them to new voices who would become part of their daily routine. It's a great source of pride knowing the role we play in keeping Chicago sports fans informed and entertained."
