Entercom, University of San Francisco Extend Broadcast Deal
RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, November 6, 2018 |
Entercom and the University of San Francisco ink a new broadcast partnership extension. As part of the agreement, KGMZ-AM (1550 AM The Game)/San Francisco will broadcast all University of San Francisco (USF) men's basketball games, beginning with the team's opening game on November 6 at 7pm PT. Select games will be simulcast on sister KGMZ-FM (95.7 The Game), the flagship home of the Golden State Warriors.
"The University of San Francisco is a Bay Area institution with an extremely rich history," said Entercom San Francisco Senior VP/Market Manager Gregory Nemitz. "All of us at Entercom San Francisco are excited to continue this partnership for this season and beyond."
"We continue to build momentum in the Bay Area with our enhanced partnership with 95.7 The Game and 1550 AM The Game," added University of San Francisco Director of Athletics Scott Sidwell. "A new weekly show dedicated solely to USF Athletics will be a tremendous boost to get our message out to the Bay Area community. Basketball in ‘The City' is a prominent fixture in the sports lineup locally and we are thankful to the Entercom family to help align and strengthen the USF brand here in San Francisco and beyond."
As part of the partnership, Pat Olson, longtime play-by-play voice of the Dons, and former USF men's basketball head coach Jim Brovelli will continue to provide commentary of the games. In addition to game broadcasts, KGMZ-AM will also air the weekly show "The USF Dons Basketball Hour" Tuesdays from 7-8pm PT.
