RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, November 6, 2018 |
Westwood One is now the exclusive radio partner of Weatherology, the 24/7 weather reporting service. WWO will affiliate Weatherology to stations across the U.S., building on its existing 600 affiliates in the upper Midwest. Weatherology's technology delivers standard weather reports, as well as breaking weather advisories, directly into radio station automation systems for insertion on air.
"We're partnering with Weatherology because of their unparalleled immediacy, currency, and quality," said Suzanne Grimes, EVP Marketing for Cumulus Media and President, Westwood One. "From day-to-day forecasts to storm emergencies, weather on the radio is a vital service to local communities. Winter is coming soon, and Westwood One is ready to offer this service to stations everywhere, including our massive 24-Hour Format customer base."
"For 32 years, Weatherology has been the industry leader supporting the unique programming challenges of our radio partners. Our latest audio weather technology, and our partnership with Westwood One, allows us to take our operation to radio stations across the country. There's nobody better prepared to help local radio stay local than Weatherology," added Weatherology founder/CEO Stephen Wohlenhaus. "We are so excited to take local weather programming to a whole new level with Westwood One."
