Listeners Vote ''Baby It's Cold Outside'' Back on KOSI/Denver

KOSI-FM/Denver has placed the song "Baby It's Cold Outside" back into its daily rotation after pulling it on Monday. The results of an online poll with over 15,000 responses, conducted at kosi101.com, showed overwhelmingly (95%) that the AC outlet's listeners were in favor of the holiday classic returning to the air.

Over the weekend, the station began receiving complaints from listeners regarding the song as a result of a national story that WDOK (Star 102) in Cleveland had stopped playing the song -- with some saying the lyrics send the wrong message in the #MeToo era. On Monday, the station decided to rest the song and began conducting the on-line poll to determine the community's position.

"We value the opinion of all our listeners and appreciate the feedback we received," said KOSI 101.1 Program Director, Jim Lawson. "Respondents voted 95% in favor of us keeping the song as part of KOSI 101.1's tradition of playing all of your holiday favorites. While we are sensitive to those who may be upset by some of the lyrics, the majority of our listeners have expressed their interpretation of the song to be non-offensive."
