iHeartRadio has launched a tool to help listeners find new podcasts. Introduced for iOS users this week, the Podcast Recommendation Engine makes personalized recommendations just for listeners. By comparing tastes with those of other podcast fans, iHR's PRE can recommend shows you might enjoy based on what others with similar interests listen to. Using machine learning technology, the podcast recommendation engine provides suggestions that are personalized to the user.
Past listening preferences are used for podcast fans to help inform recommendations for new shows. For a budding podcast listener, the system also uses music preferences, including favorite stations, liked songs and more to help discover podcasts. The podcast recommendation engine is now live on the iHeart app.
