WWO inks a multi-year contract extension with Westwood One Sports Executive VP/Executive Producer Howard Deneroff. Deneroff, who is celebrating his 30th year at Westwood One, has been the division's executive producer since 2008. He will continue to direct, coordinate, and execute all of the on-air coverage and production elements for Westwood One's live national radio play-by-play broadcasts and continue his role in talent and rights negotiations between Westwood One and its broadcast partners.

Throughout his career at Westwood One Sports, Deneroff has directed, coordinated and/or produced the network's coverage of the NFL and the Super Bowl, NCAA Championship properties (including the Men's Basketball Tournament and the Final Four in English and Spanish), the Olympics, the NHL and Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Masters, PGA Championship and the Triple Crown of Horse Racing. During his tenure, he has been part of 29 Super Bowl broadcasts, 17 Final Four broadcasts, 12 Stanley Cup Finals, 8 World Series, and 8 Olympic Games. Earlier in his career, Deneroff also served as Coordinating Producer for CBS Radio Sports' Spanish-language coverage of the NFL and Major League Baseball.

Cumulus Media EVP Marketing and Westwood One PresidentSuzanne Grimes said, "Howie Deneroff's encyclopedic knowledge and uncompromising commitment to creating the highest quality sports programming is recognized universally by coaches, athletes, our affiliates, our audience, and advertisers. We are privileged and proud that Howie will remain at the helm of our exceptional sports broadcast coverage and league partnerships."

Cumulus Media and Westwood One Senir VP/Sports Bruce Gilbert added, "There are a million reasons why so many in the industry refer to Howie as ‘the best in the business,' because it's true. Howie's professionalism, work ethic, and passion for the audio presentation of the world's biggest sporting events are second to none."

Deneroff commented, "I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue working at a job I love and have loved since day one. There is nothing that replicates the excitement and drama of live sporting events, and to be able to produce broadcasts for so many great games and historical events for Westwood One over the years has been a pleasure and an absolute honor."

Deneroff has been a guest lecturer on radio sports production for several institutions such as Syracuse University, Fordham University, Montclair State University, the Ohio Center for Broadcasting, and the Colorado Media School. For the last 13 years he has also been a faculty member for the radio portion of "NFL Broadcast Boot Camp" and "NFL Journalism Boot Camp" week-long seminars, hosted by the NFL, to teach broadcasting skills to current and former players.
