Alpha Media/Alaska Takes Home 2019 ALPAR BOD Award


Alpha Media/Alaska announced that on Thursday, May 2, Market Manager Scott Smith, who was the Master of Ceremonies at the 2019 Alaskans for Litter Prevention and Recycling (ALPAR) Awards, accepted the Board of Directors Award. The theme of the evening's event was "May the Recycling Force Be With You!" ALPAR's efforts promote high standards for clean communities and for environmentally responsible behavior by Alaskans. Smith has served on the ALPAR board since 1996, first as manager of Pioneer Broadcasting and then as GM for Anchorage Media Group and now Alpha Media.

The following was said about Scott and Alpha Media's contribution to ALPAR: "The Board of Directors Award recognizes a significant contribution to further litter prevention and recycling in Alaska and we are honored to present this year's award to one of our long-standing and committed supporters, Alpha Media Alaska and their amazing cadre of Radio stations: Kool 97, Mix 103.1, KFQD, K-Whale, K-Bear, KHAR, and Classic Country.

"On behalf of everyone at ALPAR as well as all recyclers in the galaxy, we want thank Alpha Media Alaska for their contributions to helping us raise awareness of the benefits of recycling and the system that serves us all," said ALPAR.
