WMVP-AM/Chicago Names Mike Thomas as Market Manager

Former Sports WBZ-FM (98.5 The Sports Hub)/Boston PD Mike Thomas, who led the station's programming efforts over the past decade, is named Market Manager of Sports WMVP-AM (ESPN 1000)/Chicago, which has been operating under an LMA with Good Karma Brands since last August. Before serving as PD of Beasley Media Group's WZLX, WBCN and 98.5 The Sports Hub, Thomas was Program Director and midday air personality at KGB San Diego. Prior to that, he programmed WFBQ Indianapolis, WTUE and WXEG Dayton and WYMG Springfield, IL.

Thomas succeeds Jim Pastor, who is retiring at the end of the year as ESPN 1000's VP/GM. Pastor has spent 15 years with ESPN and more than 27 years with parent the Walt Disney Co.

Good Karma Brands founder/CEO Craig Karmazin said in a statement, "We're thrilled to welcome Mike Thomas to the team. He is the epitome of best-in-class, and his expertise, passion for Chicago sports and sports-radio experience will elevate what already is a powerhouse brand."
