News KYW-AM community affairs reporter and host Cherri Gregg has been named Journalist of the Year by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists (PABJ). Gregg, who was recognized in the broadcast and online category, will be honored at the PABJ's annual Awards and Scholarship Gala on November 2 in Philadelphia.

"Cherri is extremely deserving of this award," said Entercom Philadelphia David Yadgaroff. "She is a champion of the community who is constantly searching for and reporting on the stories and issues that matter most to KYW Newsradio listeners across the Philadelphia area. I'm proud to call her a member of our team."

"I am humbled, grateful and truly honored to receive this award from PABJ, an organization that I love," added Gregg. "Every day I work to educate, empower and positively impact underserved communities, and this award means that maybe, just maybe, the work is headed in the right direction."

Gregg joined KYW Newsradio as a reporter in 2010 and has served as the station's community affairs reporter since 2013. In addition to that role, she hosts "Flashpoint with Cherri Gregg," a weekly radio program that focuses on the most relevant issues affecting the Philadelphia area. Gregg has been actively involved in the PABJ since 2009 and served as its president from 2015 to 2016.

This year, Gregg has also been recognized with two National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Salute To Excellence Awards for radio investigative reporting and podcasting.
