WFYR-FM/Peoria IL Rebrands as ''97.3 River Country''

Cumulus Media rebrands Country WFYR-FM/Peoria, IL, as ''97.3 River Country," a heritage Country outlet serving Central Illinois. The station segues from its previous brand of "97.3 NASH FM," and will refocus its programming to play "Today's Best New Country," as well as all-time country favorites. The station also launched its new website today at www.973RiverCountry.com.
97.3 River Country's new weekday programming lineup will feature "The Ty Bentli Show" (5-9am), Wes (9-10am), Cathy Taylor (10-11am & 1-2pm), Doc Watson (noon-1pm), Biscuit (2-3pm & 4-6pm) and Brian (3-4pm).
Cumulus/Peoria VP/Market Manager Joe Cook said, "We are thrilled to be able to bring a nostalgic brand back to Central Illinois. From top to bottom, a significant amount of time and effort has gone into this decision and we are extremely excited by what 97.3 River Country will bring to the market."
