Cumulus/San Francisco Vice President/Market Manager Doug Harvill has announced his retirement after a venerable 46-year career. Harvill has led Cumulus Media's Bay Area stations -- including Classic Rock KSAN-FM, News/Talk KGO-AM, Sports KNBR-FM/AM and News/Talk KSFO-AM -- since May 2018. Harvill's last day will be May 14.

For the past 24 years, Harvill led successful station groups in San Francisco and Sacramento. Prior to joining Cumulus Media, he was Senior Vice President and Market Manager for CBS Radio/San Francisco from 2005 through late 2017, following nearly nine years as Senior Vice President/Market Manager for CBS Radio/Sacramento. As Vice President and National Program Director for EZ Communications in Fairfax, VA, Harvill was part of the corporate team that led the station group through significant acquisitions and duopolies, more than doubling the size of the company

He holds a B.S. degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland. Since 2017, Harvill has served on the Board of Directors for Bay Area non-profit National First Responders Fund, helping first responders recover from Post-Traumatic Stress.

Harvill commented, "I'm leaving a wonderful and satisfying career in an industry I've wanted to be a part of since I was a kid. Local radio has been and continues to be a tremendous and enriching experience but I've achieved my goals and exceeded my dreams. Whoever steps into the Market Manager role at Cumulus San Francisco is going to inherit a tremendous team of professionals and lead some of the most legendary radio stations in broadcast history."

Cumulus Media EVP, Operations Dave Milner remarked "Doug Harvill has had an amazing career in our industry and I was lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him these past three years. His talents run deep and he has helped so many grow and flourish in radio over the years. Congratulations, Doug - we wish you the very best in the next chapter of your life."
