SummitMedia has relaunched WNOX as "Awesome 93.1" in Knoxville playing "Totally 80s and More." Core artists include Madonna, Journey, Duran Duran and Michael Jackson, as well as a handful of select hits from the 90s. It replaces the former Classic Hit format. Also new to the Knoxville market is syndicated Ace & TJ Show airing 6-10am weekdays.

"Our consumers want and need an escape and that's what this new station delivers," said Randy Chase, Summit's EVP of Programming.
