Press Communications VP/Programming and afternoon talent for Classic Rock WWZY-FM (107.1 The Boss)/Monmouth-Ocean Jeff Rafter has announced his retirement after four years with the company, effective later this year. He retired from the airwaves on Friday afternoon. Rafter spent the past 40 years as a programmer and air talent in New Jersey, including WHTG, WJLK, WJRZ, WMGQ and WOBM.
Paul Van Dusen will assume PM drive on May 24. Most recently, he handled afternoons for 10 years at co-owned Country WKMK (Thunder 106), before being furloughed during the pandemic. Before that, Van Dusen was with crosstown Townsquare Media's Classic Rock WCHR (105.7 The Hawk). He's also held stints at WEDG (103.3 The Edge)) and WGRF (97 Rock) in Buffalo.
Rafter said, "I am thrilled that Paul Van Dusen is returning to Press and taking over afternoons on The Boss."
Van Dusen added, "Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in! I'm excited to be going back to my Rock & Roll roots."
