RADIO ONLINE | Monday, January 10, 2022 |
Westwood One syndicated "The Bob & Tom Show" has engaged veteran radio programmer Marty Bender as a consulting member of its Affiliate Services team and growth partner to the program and its affiliates. In this new role, Bender will serve as a content/strategy partner to every affiliate of program, helping them optimize and monetize the show in their local markets.
Bender, former Executive Producer of "The Bob & Tom Show," will also assist in creating new content for the program, with an emphasis on growing the video content side of the comedy brand. In addition, he will package the large volume of entertainment content from "The Bob & Tom Show" for distribution across various digital platforms.
"The Bob & Tom Show" Chief Operating Officer John Kesler commented, "Listeners consume more hours of content in countless ways, and now more than ever, they want to control when they consume it. 2022 is just the beginning of a huge change in how radio will evolve to meet listener demands. In addition to already being well-staffed and well-positioned for this evolution, we are thrilled to offer Marty Bender as a content and strategy partner to each and every one of our 100+ affiliates. As far as I know, no other syndicated radio show has ever made this service available to their affiliate stations."
Kesler added, "Marty has the unique advantage and perspective of not only being a big part of the show for many years, but also recently programmed our largest affiliate."
Bender commented, "Thank you to Tom Griswold and John Kesler for reprogramming my key fob to let me back in."
Bender just launched his media consultancy, Worst Consultant Ever, in October 2021, that followed five years as Program Director/midday host of Cumulus Cincinnati's Classic Rock WOFX-FM (92.5 The Fox). He also launched Hubbard Media's AC 100.3 WSHE-FM/Chicago. Prior to that, he was Operations Manager/Program Director of WFBQ-FM (Q95) in Indianapolis, where he was Executive Producer of "The Bob & Tom Show," as well as Vice President, Programming for Premiere Networks.
