The NABJ hosted their 2022 induction ceremony for their Hall of Fame Special Honors Awards on Friday, August 5 in Las Vegas. Among those honored was AURN's Tanya Hart (pictured), host of the syndicated "Hollywood Live with Tanya Hart."
"I am so grateful to Board President, Dorothy Tucker, and the other members who nominated me for this prestigious award" says Tanya. "I had such a great time at the NABJ Convention at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. I am humbled, excited and inspired, and most importantly with God's grace I will continue to tell my listener the truth, which is, of course, the backbone of good journalism."
In addition to Hart, the NABJ also paid homage to other legendary Black journalists who have made outstanding contributions to the industry including The New York Times photographer Michelle V. Agins, Cleveland 19 News anchor/senior reporter Harry D. Boomer, Westside Gazette Newspaper Founder/Publisher Levi Henry, Jr. and I Messenger Media Publisher-Editor Cheryl Smith. A posthumous award was also bestowed upon WANN-WXTC Executive Vice President Charles W. "Hoppy" Adams, Jr.
Hart is a veteran host and commentator currently hosts "Hollywood Live with Tanya Hart," a syndicated program on American Urban Radio Networks. She's been recognized with numerous awards, including four Emmys, eight Emmy nominations, and five medals from the International TV and Film Festival of New York. In addition, she has received the prestigious Peabody and Ohio State Awards for her documentaries.
