Z95.5 Launches 11th Annual Build Your Backpack Program

Build Your Backpack Program

Saturday August 13 marks the start of one of the biggest events of the year for Saga's WFIZ (Z95.5)/Ithaca, NY's Build Your Backpack campaign, newly named, "The Z Backpack Drop." Each August, Z95.5 teams up with local sponsors to provide free backpacks and school supplies to students and families in the area. This year, Z95.5 will give the community six opportunities to get stocked up on supplies beginning August 13 at CFCU (281 branch) in Cortland. This year, Ithaca Papa John's will be providing pizza at each backpack drop location.

"I'm really excited to be a part of the Z Backpack Drop," said Z95.5 host Collin Horak. "It's arguably one of the most important programs that we do because it allows us to help out the community that we all love and hold close to our hearts... We're extremely thankful to our sponsors for making this a possibility, and for taking some of the pressure off of these families by checking off some of the materials on the back to school check list. The Z backpack Drop is the first step in securing a successful school year."

This year, one hundred backpacks filled with supplies will be distributed at the kick-off event from 10-12pm at the CFCU in Cortland.
