Producer Corny Koehl Launches Podcast to Save Democracy

Thorn In The USA
Thorn In The USA

Radio veteran Corny Koehl is launching a political satire, "Thorn in the USA." The weekly, short-form podcast centers on fictional host Margaret Penelop Taylor, aka Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's #1 fan girl/unofficial MTG whisperer. A self-described "Christian Nationalist" and "Pro-Putin Pawn," Penelop pours fuel on the culture wars and casts aspersions on her "libtard" opponents. At the end of each episode is a "real" call-to-action, followed by the host's vivid sexual fantasies with her obsession, FOX News' Tucker Carlson.

Creator/Writer Koehl stated, "Political comedy from the likes of Samantha Bee, Trevor Noah and Stephen Colbert has elevated discourse by exposing the MAGA hypocrisy and lies. Thorn in the USA is our effort to enlighten, inform and entertain people, encouraging them to vote in November."

No MAGA-endorsed public figure is safe, including Dr. Mehmet Oz, whom Koehl worked with during her time at Harpo Radio. He's featured in the "Lizard of Oz" episode to illuminate his hypocrisy. With episode titles like "January 6th 2021 Never Happened," "Peach Tree Dishes and Mexicans" and "The Scourge of Christian Nationalism," Thorn in the USA deftly hammers on controversial subject matter with comedic flair.
