Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio (MIW) has announced the MIW Mildred Carter Mentoring Program's Class of 2023. A total of four candidates from the radio industry -- within sales, marketing, programming and digital disciplines -- are selected annually for MIW's heritage mentoring program. Now in its 22nd year, this enriching opportunity matches up-and-coming women in radio with female professionals recognized as leaders in all aspects of the industry.

Beasley Media Group and Entravision Communications are serving as co-sponsors of this year's program. The 2023 class is comprised of the following broadcast professionals, listed in alphabetical order:

  • Rosanna Cole, Regional Traffic Manager, Townsquare Media
  • Caleigh Fisher, Director of Teammate Experience, Good Karma Brands
  • Kristi Nguyen, Director, Digital Sales & Campaign Management, Audacy
  • Jade Springart, WRIF-FM Program Director, Beasley Media Group

The MIW Group Mildred Carter Mentoring Program is named in memory of Mildred Carter, who, along with her husband Andrew "Skip" Carter, founded the first African American owned radio station in the U.S. in 1950, when they turned on KPRS/Kansas City. Mrs. Carter ran the Carter Broadcast Group for many years, after the death of Skip Carter, before turning over control of the company to her grandson Michael Carter in 1987.

Lindsay Adams, Chair of the 2023 MIW Mentoring Committee and a 2006 graduate of the MIW Mildred Carter Mentoring Program along with Jenna Miller, 2023 MIW Mentoring Committee Member and a 2021 graduate of the MIW Mildred Carter Mentoring Program together expressed, "Year after year, the Mildred Carter mentorship committee is captivated by the exceptional quality, diversity, and caliber of our applicants. The task of narrowing down to the final four proves challenging, a testament to the remarkable talent we consistently encounter. We are elated to announce this year's mentees and eagerly anticipate witnessing their professional growth as they embark on their career journeys with the invaluable support of this program."

"We are proud to be a part of this outstanding program that makes a real and relevant difference in supporting future leaders in our industry," added Beasley Media Group Chief Executive Officer Caroline Beasley.

"Congratulations to MIW's Class of 2023," said Entravision EVP of Global Marketing Karina Cerda. "We're excited to support our future female leaders through a program that is so committed to their growth and success."
