APM Studios, Western Sound to Co-Produce ''Ripple'' Podcast
RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, December 14, 2023 |
APM Studios and Western Sound will co-produce "Ripple," a New Investigative Podcast Launching January 11. The program returns to the scene of major events to discover the long-term impacts that have been raging, unnoticed, for years. The narrative documentary series takes a longform look at one historic event each season, demonstrating the lasting impact on people who continue to fight for their communities after the public's attention has moved on.
In season one, host Dan Leone travels across the Gulf Coast of the United States to document the ongoing effects of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill - which are still impacting many coastal residents more than a decade later. The largest oil spill in American history captivated the public's attention for the entire summer of 2010. Authorities told a story of a herculean response effort that made shorelines safe and avoided a worst case scenario.
The first two episodes of "Ripple" will be available on Thursday, January 11, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and all podcast platforms. Subsequent episodes will launch weekly through February 22.
