Max Media of Hampton Roads promotes market veteran Karen West to Program Director at WGH-FM (97.3 The Eagle) in Norfolk-Virgina Beach. A longtime fixture at the Country outlet, West ascends to the role after holding positions as Assistant Program Director and Music Director. She's been with The Eagle since its launch in 1990, and previously aired in middays before moving to mornings.

"I'm incredibly honored to step into this new role at The Eagle," West commented. "For over 30 years, this station has been my home, and I'm excited to build on its legacy of delivering great country music, supporting our community, and connecting with our loyal listeners in Hampton Roads."

In addition to her responsibilities at the station, West is actively involved in various charitable activities, notably her work with the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. Her dedication to community service is a testament to her influence both on and off the air.

Max Media of Hampton Roads Operation Manager Jay West praised her dedication: "The name Karen West is synonymous in Hampton Roads with Country music, and I'm extremely excited to elevate someone of her caliber into this role. Her unmatched longevity in the format makes her the perfect fit. This promotion is well-earned and well-deserved."
