Rod Sisco, longtime afternoon drive host on WQSB in Albertville, AL, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 1, reports Yellowhammer News. He was 54. Sisco was a beloved fixture in Alabama broadcasting, spending nearly 40 years with Sand Mountain Broadcasting and its family of stations. Known for his warm personality and deep connection to the community, he became one of the most recognizable voices on the air in northeast Alabama.
Listeners first learned of Sisco's passing from Barry Galloway, co-host of the "Barry & Holli Morning Show," who shared the heartbreaking news on-air. In a tribute the following morning, WQSB dedicated its entire show to honoring Sisco's legacy, featuring emotional stories and memories from family, friends, and former colleagues.
