Skyview Donates $10K to Kick Off BOFA Giving Day

Skyview Networks has made a $10,000 corporate donation to the Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFOA), in support of BFOA's Giving Day on Tuesday, June 24. The funds will be used to match contributions made by Skyview employees to help TV and radio professionals facing severe financial hardship.

In a message to Skyview staff, President & CEO Steve Jones emphasized the importance of supporting colleagues in crisis, "I know there are people I have worked with over my career waking up today burdened by anxiety due to poor health or circumstances they could not have foreseen. They may be facing enormous health costs or have lost their home due to a natural disaster. For them, there is a resource. It's a charity formed by broadcasters for broadcasters more than 50 years ago - the Broadcasters Foundation of America."

Jones continued, "Tomorrow is the Broadcasters Foundation of America Giving Day, a day for members of the broadcast industry to come together and support TV and Radio professionals who are in need of financial assistance due to critical illness, accident or disaster. The BFoA is the only foundation that provides this type of support to broadcasters and in my years supporting this organization, I have personally seen the ways in which they have helped so many in need."

The Foundation distributes millions in aid annually to current and former industry professionals, including those in sales, marketing, news, engineering, production, operations, IT, finance, and creative roles.

Tim McCarthy, President of the Broadcasters Foundation, praised the donation, "We are grateful to Steve and Ken Thiele (Founder & Executive Chairman) for their magnanimous corporate contribution to support the work of the Broadcasters Foundation. With support like this from the broadcast industry, the Broadcasters Foundation can continue to deliver much-needed aid to those in our business who need it most. We hope this match campaign inspires other organizations to find impactful ways to support our unique mission."
