As Pride Month concludes, Edison Research is encouraging brands and advertisers to continue their engagement with LGBT audiences -- highlighting podcasts as a powerful, year-round platform for inclusive outreach.
According to data from Edison Podcast Metrics, 12% of weekly podcast listeners identify as LGBT. Notably, the fiction genre stands out as a significant opportunity, with 31% of its weekly audience identifying as LGBT. "This is a massive opportunity for advertisers trying to reach these audiences," Edison Research noted in a recent announcement.
Among individual podcast titles, The Magnus Archives leads with the highest concentration of LGBT listeners -- 69% of its weekly audience. The weekly horror fiction anthology is known for incorporating LGBT characters and narratives into its storytelling. Other top podcasts with high LGBT audience concentrations include The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie and Katya, Very Really Good, My Brother, My Brother, and Me, and Go! My Favorite Sports Team -- the latter drawing an audience that is 56% LGBT.
Edison Research emphasized that this data is only a sample of the broader strategic insights available through its subscription-based Edison Podcast Metrics platform, which can help inform audience engagement strategies for a wide range of demographics.
