Melissa Chase, Vice President of Programming for Audacy Houston, has exited the company as part of a round of staffing reductions within the cluster. Chase's departure comes alongside the exit of Jay Michaels, who served as Assistant Brand Manager for KHMX (Mix 96.5) and KKHH (95.7 The Spot). Audacy has not commented publicly on the changes.
Chase joined Audacy Houston in June 2021 as Brand Manager for KKHH and KHMX, while also hosting afternoons on Mix 96.5. She was promoted to Vice President of Programming in February 2023, taking on additional oversight of KILT-FM (100.3 The Bull).
Prior to her time in Houston, Chase spent over a decade in Richmond, VA, serving as Program Director and morning host at 103.7 WURV through its various format shifts from AAA to Hot AC. She also held the role of Operations Manager for SummitMedia Richmond and programmed Classic Rock 96.5 WKLR. Earlier in her career, she was on-air at WRVQ (Q94) in Richmond, rising to Assistant Program Director and Music Director.
Chase's broadcasting background also includes on-air roles at iHeartMedia stations in Richmond, New Haven, Harrisonburg, Miami, and Houston.
