National Geographic explorer and author Dan Buettner, known for uncovering the secrets of the world's longest-lived populations, is launching a new podcast and releasing a companion cookbook aimed at helping Americans live longer, healthier lives.
The Dan Buettner Podcast debuts August 21 with the first two episodes, with new episodes set to drop weekly on Thursdays. The series will explore practical habits, mindsets, and wisdom drawn from Buettner's Blue Zones research, which identified five regions around the globe where people live the longest, healthiest lives.
Buettner, a multiple New York Times bestselling author, has brought the concept of Blue Zones to cities across the U.S. through his company, Blue Zones LLC. Partnering with local governments, hospital systems, and insurers, the initiative has helped communities reduce obesity rates and cut health care costs.
Alongside the podcast, Buettner will release his newest book, Blue Zones Kitchen: One Pot Meals; 100 Recipes to Live to 100, on September 2. The cookbook emphasizes the importance of home cooking as an antidote to ultra-processed food, which Buettner cites as a driver of chronic disease.
