Seattle will pay tribute to one of its most iconic radio voices next week with a night of laughter, music and memories honoring Bob Rivers, the longtime morning host and Hall of Fame broadcaster who died March 11 at age 68 from complications of esophageal cancer, The Seattle Times reports.

A public celebration of life will take place Nov. 13 at Snoqualmie Casino & Hotel's Events Center, featuring performances by Spike & The Impalers, Heart by Heart and comedian Andrew Rivers, Bob's son. Proceeds will benefit the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank and the Summer Stars Foundation, a Massachusetts arts camp providing free programs for children from low-income families - both causes close to Rivers' heart.

Rivers, inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2023, was a fixture of Seattle morning radio for 25 years, first with Bob Rivers Twisted Radio on KISW 99.9 FM in 1989 and later with The Bob Rivers Show on KZOK 102.5 FM and KJR 95.7 FM. Known for his "Twisted Tunes" parodies and sharp humor, Rivers' shows blended comedy, rock and cultural commentary, earning him a devoted following until his retirement in 2014.

"He was so well-known and loved in this town," said Lisa Decker, a retired media executive and close friend helping organize the event told the Times. "This is perfect for Bob - he would have loved this."

Original co-hosts Spike O'Neill and Joe Bryant, along with radio veteran BJ Shea, will emcee the event. Doors open at 6:30pm, with the show starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are $21.78, with more than half already sold.
