Saga's Tidewater Acquires Harrisonburg VA Duo

Tidewater Communications has agreed to acquire 4.3 kW Country WSIG-FM (96.9)/Mount Jackson, VA and 6kW WBOP-FM/Buffalo Gap, VA, from Gamma Broadcasting LLC. Both stations serve Harrisonburg, VA. Terms were not immediately disclosed. Tidewater, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Saga Communications, is a Michigan-based company headed by Edward Christian.
Saga owns radio stations in 23 markets ranging from Milwaukee and Columbus to Portland, ME and Bellingham, WA. Gamma is a Massachusetts-based company headed by Bruce Danziger, Ken Barlow and Keith Thomas. Including pending transactions, Gamma and its affiliates own and operate 24 U.S. stations.
Kalil & Co. was the exclusive broker for the transaction.
