Media Brokers Elect Officers for NAMB

The National Association of Media Brokers (NAMB), a group that represents buyers and sellers of radio and television stations and related businesses, elected a slate of officers at its semi-annual meeting during the recent Radio Show in Atlanta organized by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB).
Elected to serve another two-year term as President of NAMB was Glenn M. Serafin, Director of Tampa-based media brokerage Serafin Bros. Inc. Prior to forming Serafin Bros. in 1993, he spent 11 years in news, sales and management at Associated Press and thereafter eight years at Communications Equity Associates, an international investment bank.
Elected Vice President for his first two-year term was Eddie Esserman. A Director of Media Services Group and lifelong broadcaster, Esserman previously managed radio stations in Georgia and on the west coast. He presently owns stations in small rated and unrated markets and is an owner of a telecomm tower company with towers in the Southeast. Esserman was inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame in 2010 and previously served on the NAB Radio Board of Directors representing Alabama and Georgia.
Roger Rafson continues as Secretary of NAMB for two years. The owner of CMS Station Brokerage, at 57 he is celebrating 46 years in broadcasting. Rafson worked in radio and television advertising sales in Chicago and Pittsburgh, and at the national rep firm TeleRep.
Greg Guy will serve another two years as Treasurer of NAMB. A Managing Partner of Patrick Communications, Guy has been with the firm for seventeen years. His educational background includes a B.S.C. in Media Management and M.A. in Telecommunications Research from Ohio University.
The NAMB is a founding underwriter of the Broadcaster's Foundation "Ward L. Quaal Pioneer Awards," given annually at the NAB convention in Las Vegas in April.
