Alfred Edmond Jr., Senior VP/Editor-at-Large for Black Enterprise magazine, has partnered with American Urban Radio Networks to deliver a daily, short form feature entitled "Money Matters." Edmond, who is already heard Wednesdays on the syndicated "Doug Banks Radio Show," will offer a range of advice to African-American consumers.
"Since partnering with the Doug Banks Show it seemed like a natural extension," said AURN President of Program Operations and Affiliations Jerry Lopes. "Alfred does a great job of breaking things down and we thought we would share him with a wider audience."
In addition to the Doug Banks Show, Edmond appears regularly on PBS's "Nightly Business Report," a contributor to American Express' "Open Forum," CNN and as an expert on MSNBC's "Your Business."
"I'm extremely excited about connecting with the AURN listening audience. I know it well because I've been a part of it for most of my life. Wealth is not a matter of how much money you have, but what you do with it. I look forward to sharing daily insights and information that will help African Americans and other urban listeners to not only make more money, but manage it more effectively in order to achieve their goals and dreams," said Edmond.
Edmond joined Black Enterprise in 1987 as an associate editor and advanced to business editor later that year. In 1990 he was promoted to senior editor/administration, then to Managing Editor in 1992. He was made Executive Editor in 1995, named Editor-In-Chief in 2000 and assumed his current role in June, 2008.
