A tornado hit Talk Radio AM 1300 WMEL in Cocoa Beach, FL, on Sunday afternoon. Winds toppled their 200-foot-tall radio tower and tore the roof of the west wing of the building creating major interior damage. Meanwhile a power surge destroyed the transmitter.
The station's owner, John Harper, says the station is off the air until at least Tuesday afternoon. For the time being, the station is broadcasting via live streaming online at 1300WMEL.com.
