Former Missouri Speaker Tim Jones will be talking a lot more about local, state and national politics as the host of his own weekly radio show. "The Tim Jones Show" debuted Sunday, June 4 from 7-9pm on Emmis News/Talk KFTK-FM (FM NewsTalk 97.1) St. Louis. Jones served as a State Representative and Speaker of the Missouri House from 2007-2015. He also acted as the first Director of Political Communications for St. Louis-based media company, First Rule, and as a Senior Policy Fellow for The Hammond Institute at Lindenwood University.

"I could not be more excited to combine the skills I have obtained from my many talented colleagues at FM NewsTalk 97.1 with the unique knowledge I have of national and local politics and public policy, gained by serving at the one of the highest levels of government, to create a brand-new cutting edge weekly radio product," said Jones. "Many in the 97.1 audience have asked me 'when would this day come?' so I am so pleased to tell them, the wait is over!"

Jones is no stranger to broadcasting, regularly guest-hosting FM NewsTalk 97.1's Allman in the Morning, The Marc Cox Show and The Randy Tobler Show, and as a frequent contributor to The Dave Glover Show, providing political insight and commentary.

"We are thrilled to be able to add former Speaker Tim Jones to our program line-up. He has been our #1 fill in guy for some time now so the audience already knows and loves him," said FM NewsTalk 97.1 PD Jeff Allen.
