Longtime WSOC-FM (Country 103.7) Charlotte personalities Charlie & Debbie are named the Beasely outlet's new morning show hosts. The duo will officially take over mornings beginning June 22. Charlie & Debbie have been a familiar presence on the station for more than two decades. Their move from afternoons to mornings follows the retirement of longtime morning host Tanner.
Beasley Media Group Charlotte Vice President and Market Manager Mac Edwards said the pair's longstanding relationship with listeners and their commitment to the community made them a natural choice for mornings. He noted that their chemistry, warmth, and enthusiasm for country music position them well to lead the station's morning lineup.
Beasley Chief Content Officer Justin Chase echoed those sentiments, praising Charlie & Debbie's ability to connect with audiences in an authentic way and emphasizing the importance of local entertainment and community engagement in the morning daypart.
Program Director Cameron Moore described the transition as a "natural and exciting next chapter," noting that the duo has spent the past 20 years developing a unique bond with listeners during afternoon drive. He expressed confidence that their humor, personality, and familiarity will resonate with morning audiences.
In a joint statement, Charlie & Debbie said they were honored by the opportunity to help listeners start their day after spending years accompanying them on their afternoon commute. They described Country 103.7 listeners as family and said the move simply means "getting the reunion started earlier each day."
The pair also paid tribute to Tanner and his longtime morning team, thanking them for their friendship and celebrating Tanner's retirement after more than two decades on the air.
Captain Jim, who most recently appeared on the Tanner in the Morning Show, will remain part of the morning lineup, continuing to provide traffic reports and other on-air contributions.
