Nielsen Debuts Market-Wide Total Line Reporting for Audio

Nielsen has announced the launch of Market-Wide Total Line Reporting, a new Nielsen Audio measurement service that will enable clients in PPM (Portable People Meter) markets to see a market-wide view of streaming audio consumption.

Effective with the March, 2023 survey month, Market-Wide Total Line Reporting, or TLR reports, will provide clients with access to broadcast-audio streaming estimates for any TLR-enabled station within the same market. Previously, clients could only see streaming listening that occurred on their own stations.

"With the ongoing rise of streaming audio consumption as it pertains to the radio industry, it only makes sense to provide clients with an enhanced view of the audio marketplace," said Nielsen EVP, Managing Director, Audio and Local TV Catherine Herkovic. "We are excited to introduce Market-Wide TLR reporting as an enhancement that will help our clients make informed decisions and drive continued growth."

Digital listening to broadcast radio has grown steadily over time and currently accounts for about 12% of all radio usage in PPM markets.

Market-Wide TLR reports will be available for five different demographics and seven different standard dayparts.
