WKDF (Country 103.3) in Nashville names Jesse James as its new morning host, replacing The Big D & Bubba Show, which has moved to sister station 95.5 WSM-FM. James most recently held down mornings at co-owned KUBL (93.3 The Bull) in Salt Lake City and brings a longstanding connection with Cumulus VP/Country and WKDF Program Director Travis Dailey. His previous stints include FM 106.1 Milwaukee, 92.5 The Wolf Denver, Y100 San Antonio, and Big 98.7 Fargo.
The morning show change is part of a broader realignment at both WKDF and WSM-FM. WSM-FM dropped its "NASH Icon" branding recently, signaling a format or imaging evolution, although remnants of the branding still appear on its website. Meanwhile, the station's Facebook page now displays a different logo.
WSM-FM's weekday lineup continues to evolve. Lucas Phelan, formerly APD and afternoon host at WKHX (New Country 101-Five) in Atlanta, has joined the station for middays. Tyler Reese also transitions from WKDF to WSM-FM as part of the reshuffle.
Longtime WSM-FM hosts Lisa Manning, Marty McFly, and Stew James have exited the station amid the changes.
