Quu Inc. has released its inaugural 2024 In-Vehicle Visuals Report. This annual report offers a snapshot of radio's place in the top 100 best-selling new vehicles in the U.S. The report found that AM/FM radio continues to enjoy universal distribution in new vehicles as the rumors of AM/FM radio disappearing from the dash have been greatly exaggerated. Despite all the noise, AM/FM radio still enjoys universal distribution.
The first-of-its-kind study uncovers radio's strengths and areas for growth in vehicles, the #1 location for listening. Quu's 2024 In-Vehicle Visuals Report includes a database with vehicle data, scoreboard of dashboard features, six key findings with interpretation and Insights and action steps from experts.
Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs, Jacobs Media VP/GM Paul Jacobs, Radio Xperi SVP, Global Broadcast Joe D'Angelo and McVay Media Consulting President Mike McVay contributed analysis and commentary in the report. All four will join Quu CEO Steve Newberry to discuss the findings in a free webinar on April 10 at 3pm ET.
Data for Quu's 2024 In-Vehicle Visuals Report was collected by an independent contractor tasked with auditing in-dash systems. Quu engaged broadcast radio researcher Doug Hyde to analyze the data. Hyde identified the report's six key findings and provided insights into their impact on the radio industry.
"The data tells a story of radio's ubiquitous presence in the car, but also details the inclusion of other audio sources," said Hyde. "Each automaker takes a different approach to their entertainment system and radio now has the data to see trends and develop strategies."
"This report serves as a crucial yardstick for broadcast radio, helping us understand if we're making headway in vehicles or not. As radio's status evolves in future years, we will track it," said Quu CEO Steve Newberry. "We are grateful to have well-respected experts like Doug, Fred, Paul, Joe, and Mike review the data and offer their perspectives on radio's in-dash stumbling blocks and areas for growth."
