Just days after revoking the licenses of two Texas radio stations over unpaid regulatory fees, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has reversed its decision and reinstated the broadcast authorizations for KYKM-FM in Yoakum and KTXM-FM in Hallettsville, known as Texas Thunder Radio.
In an order released Wednesday, the FCC's Media Bureau and Office of the Managing Director formally rescinded the May 31 revocation order against licensee Kremling Enterprises, Inc. The Commission also returned the 2021 renewal applications for both stations to pending status and restored the stations' call signs in its public and internal databases.
The reinstatement comes after the original revocation cited Kremling Enterprises' failure to pay $14,222.60 in regulatory fees, covering fiscal years 2017 through 2024. The FCC had concluded that the company failed to respond to multiple notices, including a February 2025 "Order to Pay or to Show Cause," and revoked the licenses accordingly.
While the new order does not explain the rationale for reversing the earlier decision, it clears the way for KYKM and KTXM - known collectively as Texas Thunder Radio - to resume operations under their original licenses.
Official notice of the reinstatement was sent to Kremling Enterprises and its consultant via registered and first-class mail. The stations' original license renewal applications, filed in April 2021, are once again under review.
