NRG Media to Sell Omaha Cluster to Usher Media

NRG Media LLC has signed a contract and is filing an application with the FCC for the transfer of five radio outlets in Omaha-Council Bluffs to Usher Media LLC. Included in the deal are 5kW KOIL-AM (1290)/Omaha, 25kW KOPW-FM (106.9)/Plattsmouth, 10kW KOZN-AM (1620) & 25kW KZOT-AM (1180)/Bellevue, and 100kW KQKQ-FM (98.5)/Council Bluffs.
The seller, NRG Media is an Iowa-based broadcaster led by CEO Mary Quass and owns more than 30 stations across Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. "We have had a wonderful partnership with Omaha and are happy that Alan Usher and his group will continue that relationship," Quass said.
The buyer, Usher Media is a Nebraska-based company headed by Alan Usher. "This acquisition is a statement of belief in Omaha and in Nebraska," Usher said. "Local radio matters. Local leadership matters. We are committed to building a broadcast presence that reflects the strength of this community and delivers real value to the businesses and people who call it home."
