KROX (101X)/Austin morning co-host Jason Dick exits the Waterloo Media Alternative outlet after 22 years, effective December 8. Dick, whose contract was not renewed, had anchored mornings at KROX since 2004 after previously serving as its morning producer. From 2006 until she left in March, 2021, Dick co-hosted mornings with Deb O'Keefe as Jason & Deb. The program became "Jason Dick & Friends" when Emily Svahn joined the show with producer & co-host Nick Hajda. The Morning X will continue with Nick Hajda & Emily Svahn.
In a Twitter post, Dick wrote, "Yesterday was my last show. I'll talk about it somewhere, someday but want to say I have nothing but immense gratitude for my now former employers. I was hired November 17, 2000 & the 22 years that followed gave me a life I never imagined possible."
